Bryan Oldfield Bio & Gallery.

Bryan Oldfield was born in Battersea, South London, more years ago that he cares to think about!

As a child, he had a keen interest in art and drawing.  In his teenage years, he was offered the opportunity of working for an advertising company who were impressed with his drawings.  However, this would have required a college course, which was not possible at the time due to family circumstances.

The teaching of art at his school didn't encourage him and after leaving, he had various jobs including butcher and area salesman for a bakery chain.  The nearest he got to art at this time, was painting, decorating and interior design.  He later specialized in decorative paint techniques, designing and making his own stencils for clients own themes.

The diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis and loss of mobility meant a modification of lifestyle and as the climate in Cyprus is much better for him, he and his family moved to Cyprus in 1998, where he began to paint and draw again. 

Extensive self motivated study and practice in techniques and methods yielded good results and he began to sell some of his paintings and greeting cards based on his watercolours, through various outlets around Limassol.

Bryan was pleased to be invited as a participant in the Lania Arts and Crafts Online Studio, where his watercolour paintings based on local scenery, prints and stationary taken from his designs are available.
